Senior Design Engineer A mechanical company in Columbus, OH is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer. The position is responsible for providing engineering support to the sales and operational staff as necessary in order to achieve sales and operations goals. Personal characteristics we are seeking are attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, building and maintaining relationships, customer focused, and quality oriented. Duties include: Servicing and maintaining accounts for sales opportunities. Closing orders. Assisting sales and project management personnel on design related questions. Take the design responsibility for work. Prepare preliminary conceptual design including CAD drawings and scope narrative in pre-construction phases. Coordinate estimating requirements with Chief Estimator and prepare proposals. Participate in proposal presentations to customers. Coordinator turnover to project management and assist estimating in preparation of turnover book. Assist project manager in pre-planning activities. Complete design on project in conjunction with input from project manager. Coordinate all CAD drafting requirements with drafting staff. Managing the completion of drawings and specs to accomplish plan review and permitting through construction drawing requirements. Review all material and equipment submittals for design compliance. Must have experience doing commercial design for HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical projects. Ideal candidate would aspire to be the leader of the design group.
